JOURNEY OF A DJ

Since 2007, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the most amazing clients in Montana, Washington, and Colorado on events both large and small. This experience and my passion for music has helped me evolve into one of the most skilled music curators around. With modern equipment and a unique approach to music, my clients know that when they book me, they can do it with full confidence.

I began my journey in 2007 with a trip to Burning Man. In the middle of a barren Nevada desert lakebed, I saw performances by the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Glitch Mob, Bassnectar, Freq Nasty, and others, and learned of the power and control a DJ has over anyone within earshot of their sound system. The way they can affect the energy and mood of a space through sound alone. The additional spectacle of lights and fire was awe-inspiring, and I decided this was something I wanted to do.

It wasn't until a few years later when I had a sort of awakening to various events in my past, and a realization of how they all had been leading me to this calling. How I made hiphop mixtapes off the radio in my childhood home outside of Cleveland, OH at around 10 years old. How I discovered a lost CD binder of DJ beats and instrumentals outside my college dorm. How, as a film major, I was always leaning towards the audio production side of our projects, and took elective classes like Theater Audio & Sound. How I discovered a forgotten sound booth in our Film school's building and rewired and repurposed the existing vintage equipment into a working recording studio.

It all led me to dive deep into the world of DJs and dance music, and I am still there today, over 15 years later. I still dig for hot new tracks. I still hear songs playing in my head when I wake up every morning. And I still have the overwhelming desire to play music for people, usually complete strangers, in the hopes that they will walk away with some new tune playing in their head now, too.
